GAWD is what happens when two background singers decide they’re done standing in the background.
The Los Angeles duo — Alana Linsey and Alayna — spent years building their reputation as some of the most trusted voices behind the mic, singing with artists like Anderson .Paak, Steve Lacy, Willow, Harry Styles, and Duckwrth. If you’ve been to the shows or listened closely to the records, chances are you’ve already heard them.
They just weren’t the ones in the spotlight yet.
When GAWD finally stepped forward, they didn’t ease into it. Their debut show in Los Angeles sold out immediately, dropping alongside their breakout single “Waistside,” and the energy hasn’t slowed since. Their live shows feel somewhere between a concert, a house party, and a sermon — powered by tight harmonies, sharp humor, and the kind of chemistry that only comes from years of singing side by side.
The résumé is already wild. GAWD opened for the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the Unlimited Love Tour with Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, supported Duckwrth across 13 international dates, and most recently joined Becky Hill for a run of shows across the U.S. They also served as direct support for Durand Bernarr and contributed vocals to his Grammy-winning album BLOOM.
And the world outside of music is starting to catch on too — including a recent appearance in Anderson .Paak’s directorial film debut K-POPs.
Musically, GAWD lives somewhere between R&B, house, soul, and alternative pop — sensual, playful, a little rebellious, and always honest.
The girls are here.
And with new music arriving and their debut album on the way, they’re just getting warmed up.
